Jackie and I attended the wedding
of our oldest grandson, Ashley James Goin, a couple of Saturdays ago,
on October 30, 2004. The wedding was at 9:00 a.m., when he and Lina
Phouthavong exchanged their wedding vows in a traditional Laotian
ceremony at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tatsani Phouthavong.
The wedding was conducted by a Laotian Elder. He
performed the ceremony in the Laotian language with explanations of
the different portions of the wedding in the English language.
The ceremony was very beautiful, with an pleasant
oriental setting. The reception and dance were with American tradition
and held at the Lam Phu Restaurant in Fort Worth. Lunch was served to
about 100 guests of the couple.
