The City of Aubrey working crews
brought new life to the Main Street of Aubrey this past week. The Main
Street had been neglected for quite some time. The emergency crew from
the Fire Department and the city workers washed the main street with
their pressure pumping water removing the dirt and sand accumulations
on the street in front of the stores. The high pressure cleaned the
dirt and sent it down the ditches.
The Main Street Committee will meet this Thursday and
will elect and appoint new officers for the new year which will begin
on the first of July, 2002. The new officers will serve for one year.
The committee will hear the financial status of the committee and the
new officers will assume their new duties. This is a very important
meeting and should be attended by anyone who is interested in
revitalizing the Main Street. The Main Street Committee is under the
wings of the Aubrey City Council and Mayor and the efforts to
revitalize the old historical part of Main street. The Main Street
Committee wishes to thank the crews of the City of Aubrey for their
interest in cleaning the streets. This was a very much needed and
appreciated project.
Mr. Brown has told he that he intends to vacate the
old inventory of antiques and rent the buildings. I have been sending
several prospective renters with possible new business ventures to Mr.
Brown. He has liquidated a great deal of the old relics in the old
historical buildings.
This is very good news to hear that Mr. Brown is going
to rent these building and the new tenants will be a welcome relief.
Our appreciation goes to Mr. Brown for his decision to rent the
buildings for new business.
